A moment captured at a Coldplay concert in Boston has turned into a viral controversy, drawing attention to the personal lives and professional affiliations of those involved. (Also read: Astronomer CEO Andy Byron Accused of Toxic Behavior After Viral Kiss Cam Moment)
Kristin Cabot, who was seen on the stadium’s kiss cam sharing an embrace with Andy Byron, is married to Andrew Cabot, CEO of Massachusetts-based distillery Privateer Rum.
The concert footage quickly made the rounds online. Within days, both Kristin and Byron were placed on leave from their roles at tech firm Astronomer, where Byron served as CEO and Cabot led human resources. Byron has since resigned.
Public speculation is growing, and scrutiny is mounting on the people behind the headlines.
Kristin, whose now-deleted LinkedIn profile listed her as an advisory board member at Privateer Rum, is married to Andrew Cabot, who launched the distillery in Ipswich in 2011. The company is known for small-batch rums and open tours at its Massachusetts facility.
According to the Privateer Rum website, Andrew Cabot named the company after an ancestor who was a rum distiller and privateer during the American Revolution.
The site reads, “Our founder’s ancestor, the original Andrew Cabot (1750–1791), was a merchant, rum distiller and successful American privateer… We carry on this spirit of New England independence and gritty determination.”

Kristin reportedly joined the advisory board in 2020.
While her recent appearance at the concert has taken center stage, property records have also surfaced. A report from the New York Post said Kristin and Andrew purchased a New England-style home in Rye for $2.2 million in February. The four-bedroom home sits near the Atlantic coast.
This was not Kristin’s first marriage. She was previously married to Kenneth Thornby, with the divorce finalized in 2022.
Andy Byron, a married father of two, has stayed silent. His wife, Megan Kerrigan, reportedly works in education.
No public statements have been made by Privateer Rum or Andrew Cabot regarding the incident.
The story continues to circulate online as personal and professional boundaries blur under the weight of viral visibility.
