Salman Ali Agha has received the captaincy mandate for the forthcoming T20I tri-series in Sharjah, followed immediately by the Asia Cup scheduled in the United Arab Emirates. The decision, disseminated on August 17, derives directly from the Men’s National Selection Committee and reveals a squad characterized by a strategic juxtaposition of experienced personnel and emerging constituents.
The tri-series, blueprint launching on August 29, matches Pakistan against Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates, the latter of which is designated the host nation. All fixtures occur at Sharjah Cricket Stadium and will encompass the interval until September 7, at which date the decisive final will also be conducted.
Pakistan’s itinerary commences with a confrontation against Afghanistan on the inaugural date, preceded by a fixture opposite the UAE a calendar day thereafter. The tournament blueprint thereafter proceeds with the UAE facing Afghanistan on September 1, followed by Pakistan and Afghanistan on September 2 and Pakistan and UAE on September 4.
The Pakistan roster incorporates central individuals including Fakhar Zaman and Faheem Ashraf, both reinstated to the T20 ensemble, concomitantly with a bowling division comprising Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
In addition to the primary unit, Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, and Saim Ayub enhance the assembly through cross-format adaptability.
