The government is committed to bringing the country back to a state of stability before the upcoming national election, according to Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser.
Speaking at a views-exchange meeting with journalists and civil society members at the Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner’s office on Saturday, Majumder said the administration has been focused on normalizing conditions since the recent wave of unrest.
Addressing Recent Violence
Referring to a recent murder in Old Dhaka, Majumder stated that police have already arrested four suspects and are investigating the motive.
“The Chief Adviser has met with officials from the Home Ministry,” he said, “and clearly instructed that there should be no room for leniency.”
Changes in Cyber Law Enforcement
Majumder also announced that all cases filed under the now-revoked Digital Security Act have been dropped. The new Cyber Security Act, which replaces it, has revised enforcement guidelines.
“Under the new law, all sections are bailable except those related to hacking,” he said.
The meeting included CA’s Senior Assistant Press Secretary Fayez Ahmed, Assistant Press Secretary Suchismita, and Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Afia Akter.
As political uncertainty continues, the remarks signal the government’s intent to project readiness and control ahead of a high-stakes election period.
