Trump Denies Link to Epstein Birthday Letter After Wall Street Journal Report

What's the story

A new report from The Wall Street Journal has added to the renewed scrutiny surrounding Jeffrey Epstein’s past connections, this time linking President Donald Trump to a suggestive birthday letter allegedly signed by him.

The article, published Thursday afternoon, claims Trump’s name appears alongside other associates on a letter sent to Epstein for his 50th birthday. The document, described as “bawdy,” was reportedly organized by Ghislaine Maxwell and framed in the shape of a nude woman.

One signature, placed below the waist in the drawing, is a stylized “Donald,” according to WSJ reporters Khadeeja Safdar and Joe Palazzolo. The report suggests the signature mimicked pubic hair in the layout of the figure.

The WSJ also reported that Trump allegedly attempted to contact the paper’s editor-in-chief in an effort to suppress the story. That detail originated from Status Report, a platform that first hinted at the Journal’s investigation.

Reached for comment, Trump firmly denied any connection to the letter.

“This is not me. This is a fake thing. It’s a fake Wall Street Journal story,” he said in an interview with the outlet. “I never wrote a picture in my life. I don’t draw pictures of women. It’s not my language. It’s not my words.”

The development follows ongoing public frustration over the U.S. Department of Justice’s handling of the Epstein case. A July 6 DOJ memo said no additional information would be released regarding Epstein’s records and denied the existence of any “black book” of clients or evidence of blackmail operations tied to the late financier.

The release of new documents tied to Jeffrey Epstein is dragging Donald Trump’s old association with the disgraced financier back into the spotlight.

While their friendship in the 1990s is well-documented through photos and interviews, Trump has since worked hard to distance himself, claiming he was unaware of Epstein’s monstrous crimes.

The WSJ piece describes the birthday note as part of broader correspondence found among Epstein’s records. It did not clarify whether handwriting analysis or third-party verification had confirmed the signature’s authenticity.

The president pushed back with a denial. But beyond that, it’s silence—nothing from the Justice Department, and nothing from Ghislaine Maxwell’s side.

This leaves the public to wonder where the document even came from and whether anyone else named will dare to respond. The silence only feeds the speculation surrounding the case’s already tangled web of names and accusations.
