Mumbai police have booked Raheel Sheikh, the son of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Vice President Javed Sheikh, in a case involving drunk driving and threats issued to a local influencer. The incident reportedly occurred late Sunday night while social media figure Rajshree More was traveling from Goregaon to Andheri.
More, a nail tech and online influencer, claimed Sheikh struck her car repeatedly while drunk and partially undressed. Her Instagram video of the scene quickly went viral.
Speaking to NDTV, More explained that the initial impact seemed accidental. But as the SUV continued to hit her vehicle, she became convinced it was deliberate.
“I thought it was a mistake at first,” she said. “But it kept happening. I wasn’t sure if I was being followed.”
She described pulling into a narrow lane near her residence, hoping to reach safety. There, she saw two police constables and asked for their assistance. After they entered her car, she says it was hit again.
The situation escalated quickly after the police attempted to confront Sheikh. More said he became aggressive, referenced his father’s political status, and began threatening her.
“He started abusing me the moment he saw me,” she said. “He was drunk and half-naked. His pants were slipping off, and yet he was fully aware of his father’s position. He said I would pay for what I was doing.”
An FIR has been filed against Raheel Sheikh under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including:
- Section 79 (gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman)
- Section 281 (rash and negligent driving)
- Sections 125 and 185 (drunk driving)
As of Tuesday, no arrest has been made.
More’s remarks against a reported assault on a shopkeeper over language sparked backlash from MNS supporters. She argued that language should be encouraged, not imposed, and emphasized effort over force.
Neither the MNS nor Javed Sheikh has issued a public comment regarding the case involving Raheel Sheikh. The investigation remains ongoing.
